Heidrun Holzfeind is an Austrian born artist and filmmaker currently basedin Umeå, Sweden. Her films, photographs, and sculptures question immanentarchitectural and social utopias. Combining extensive research with poeticcharm, they probe the relationships between history and identity, betweenindividual stories and the political narratives of the present. She is currently researching the history of protest and the complex relationshipsbetween architecture/urban space, humans and nature inscribed in urban andrural landscapes in Japan.
